The check is pointless, and so is the size parameter in the first place as it is always called with a length of 2. Besides, it accepts a size of 3 without error and is thus wrong anyway. > + mutex_lock(&priv->mutex); > + > + ret = aqc_get_ctrl_data(priv); > + if (ret < 0) > + goto unlock_and_return; > + > + switch (size) { > + case 4: > + put_unaligned_be32(val, priv->buffer + offset); > + break; > + case 2: > + put_unaligned_be16((u16)val, priv->buffer + offset); > + break; > + case 1: > + priv->buffer[offset] = val; > + break; Same here: values other than 2 are not used. Hi Guenter, Thanks the for the review. The missing break; statements are my oversight, I'd never omit them otherwise. Will fix in v3. Yes, those should be centi-percent if I'm not mistaken... For example, 47.52% is read as 4752 from the device, so that's divided by 100 and scaled to PWM. Aleksa

Extend aquacomputer_d5next driver to expose hardware temperature sensors and fans of the Aquacomputer Octo fan controller, which communicates through a proprietary USB HID protocol. Four temperature sensors and eight PWM controllable fans are available. Additionally, serial number, firmware version and power-on count are exposed through debugfs. This driver has been tested on x86_64.
