Nice to see that concept applied more widely. From amdgpu experience the most beneficial case is usually when you run out of TLB reach, e.g. when your working set is so large than with 4k pages the TLB won't be enough to cover it entirely and you are force to re-fetch entries during execution. In those case 20% improvement is usually quite realistic.
