Still doesn't work without the three reverts (763fedd6a216, 9e0f9464e2ab, 7ac2d2536dfa)...

I'm going to pull in the reverts this week I think, Intel are changing some part of their patchflows to me, but the 5.10 queue had to revert some stuff in this area for other reasons, so I'd like to sanely get those into 5.9 as well. So this didn't make rc4, but it's in my tree now.
