Imagine having to write a changelog for all the changes in a pull request [1]. Imagine you don't know anything about the details in the commits. First, you look at the commit subject. Huh, what loop? Then you look at the commit message. Huh, what? The commit message is a single five-line sentence. It's really really hard to understand what it's trying to say. What's being done? Especially why? What's the user impact? I'd have to look at the code to understand, and that's not a great sign for the commit message. If it's a fix, is there a bug report that I could look at to help me understand, etc. BR, Jani.
