A new IA32_CORE_CAPABILITY MSR (0xCF) is defined. Each bit in the MSR enumerates a model specific feature. Currently bit 5 enumerates #AC exception for split locked accesses. When bit 5 is 1, split locked accesses will generate #AC exception. When bit 5 is 0, split locked accesses will not generate #AC exception. Please check the latest Intel Architecture Instruction Set Extensions and Future Features Programming Reference for more detailed information on the MSR and the split lock bit.
