Before this patch only the counter of the hardware block was used to generate clock events. Now counter will be used to provide a 32 bits clock source and a comparator will provide clock events. In addition of that this patch also forbid to use 16 bits timers because they are not enough accurate. Use timer_of helpers functions to remove code from probe function and avoid using proprietary structure.
