The savings in space are small and not worth the complexity of __maybe_unused of ifdef guards. To avoid use in new IIO drivers based on copy and paste, clean it out. - cleanup.h based handling of iio_device_claim_direct_mode()/ iio_device_release_direct_mode() using scope_cond_guard(). In many drivers this is combined with other automated cleanup to give maximum simplifications. An initial set of drivers are converted over to this infrastructure.
