> > Interesting.. another driver willing to have a get sensor id from DT. > Can you please describe why you need this? Why not simply registering all > sensors? The sensor id we used here is actually our i.MX8QXP's resource ID, because the MU IPC API to get sensor's temperature needs to pass the resource ID to system controller firmware, if using the ID started from 0,1,2.., then we will have to remap the ID to resource ID like below, and different SoCs may introduce different map table, for example as below, so I just use our resource ID as the thermal sensor ID, then we can save the remap and no need to modify the thermal driver for new SoC. That is why I need to get sensor id from DT. For other sensors like DRC, since we still have some hardware related issues, so system controller does NOT enable it now, we will add them later in dtb. 28 #define SC_R_DRC_0 12 371 #define SC_R_SYSTEM 355 45 static const sc_rsrc_t imx8qm_sensor_hw_id[] = { 46 SC_R_A53, SC_R_A72, SC_R_GPU_0_PID0, SC_R_GPU_1_PID0, 47 SC_R_DRC_0, SC_R_PMIC_0, SC_R_PMIC_1, SC_R_PMIC_2, 48 }; 49 50 static const sc_rsrc_t imx8qxp_sensor_hw_id[] = { 51 SC_R_SYSTEM, SC_R_DRC_0, SC_R_PMIC_0, 52 SC_R_PMIC_1, SC_R_PMIC_2, 53 }; Thanks. i.MX8QXP is an ARMv8 SoC which has a Cortex-M4 system controller inside, the system controller is in charge of controlling power, clock and thermal sensors etc.. This patch adds i.MX system controller thermal driver support, Linux kernel has to communicate with system controller via MU (message unit) IPC to get each thermal sensor's temperature, it supports multiple sensors which are passed from device tree, please see the binding doc for details.
